Ken Carver former administrator of the discontinued "MTA Video and Book Library" has generously donated his collection to MTA Education. These videos can be a huge asset to your classes. If you're hosting a fall course one or two videos on under ice beaver trapping might prove useful, conversely a midwinter course might have room for an open water beaver trapping subject or dirt trapping techniques tape. You get my drift. The volume is quite significant and covers many titles but please keep in mind that most of these videos were shot in states other than Minnesota and the techniques suggested, may or may not be legal or ethical for your use in many parts of our state. If you happen to know that a certain title (or host trapper) promotes techniques that aren't advisable for Minnesota, kindly drop me a line to make me aware of such. Due to the volume of tapes, it's entirely unlikely that I will have had the opportunity to review them all.
So when hosting a trapper education class make mention of any special requests for tapes that you'd like to incorporate into the classroom setting. I'll send you whatever is available.
In addition we have three tapes of trapping demonstrations held at MTA conventions from 1988 and 1990.
Till then, Keep your skinning knives sharp.
